Vanita High School was started in 1953. Government of Karnataka gave High School grant –in – aid in 1967. Presently Music, Dance, Craft, Drawing, Tailoring , Sanskrit classes are running , as value addition activity.
Poor, destitute, orphans, backward classes are provided better education in our institution. Professional trainings, English coaching programmes are regular features. The high school is only for girls & hence importance is given for the safety and security .
N.C.C. is component of the school which inculcate courage among Cadets. First N.C.C. girls wing in Dharwad started during 1968 by Smt. Suvarna Badiger. “A” certificate examination supports students in getting admission in higher education. Cadet Majula Irkal was participated in T.S.C. camp held in Delhi.
Vidyabharati affiliated classes started in 2010 to create awareness about our Indian culture and cultural activities , also to develop sportsmanship in children.
CMCA classes started in high school during 2006. In 2018 the school has won the CMCA best school award in the field of civic awareness. Kumari Raziya Begum won the appreciation certificate from CMCA , for to put a stop to Child marriage by calling 1098.
The Headmasters who served with high Principle thoughts in the high school were Shri. Omkar, Smt. Sudha Joshi, Shri. C.A.Hiremath , Shri M. B. Iddalagi, Shri P. D.Tyamannavar, Shri R.B.Kordur and presently Smt. S.F.Sannappanavar. Now 8 staff around 200 students. Subjects for students is convincingly guided by expert resource persons.
Our school is declared as “Happy School in the year 2016 -2017” by the ‘Inner wheel Club’. High school students are getting valuable information about their health , hygiene, mindset and other experimental subjects through inner wheel club. Inner wheel club has provided sports materials like drum set and computer to the school. The art of self defence , Yoga and Karate are taught to the students.

ವನಿತಾ ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಾಲೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದದ್ದು ೧೯೫೩ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ೧೯೬೭ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುದಾನ ಲಭಿಸಿತು. ಈ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ೦೬ ವಿಷಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತ, ನೃತ್ಯ, ಕ್ರಾಫ್ಟ, ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆ, ಹೊಲಿಗೆ, ನೇಯ್ಗೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಪಾಠಶಾಲೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ತರಗತಿಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಕೂಡ ಬಡ,ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕ,ಅನಾಥ,ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಪರ ತರಬೇತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ, ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಹಿನಿಗೆ ತರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆ ಕೇವಲ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶಾಲೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ-ಕಾಳಜಿಯು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಆದ್ಯ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಲು,ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ.ಯು ಶಾಲೆಯ ಅವಿಭಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ೧೯೬೮ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ.ಸುವರ್ಣಾ ಬಡಗೇರ ಗುರುಮಾತೆಯರಿದ್ದಾಗ ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ ತರಗತಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದವು. ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ಗರ್ಲ್ಸ್ ವಿಂಗ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಎ ಸರ್ಟಿಫೀಕೇಟ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಕಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಎನ್.ಎನ್.ಸಿ. ಕ್ಯಾಡೇಟ್ಸ್‌ಗಳು, ಟಿ.ಎಸ್.ಸಿ. ಕ್ಯಾಂಪ್ ದೆಹಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. (ಕುಮಾರಿ ಮಂಜುಳಾ ಇರಕಲ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ) ೨೦೧೦ರಿಂದ ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ತರಗತಿಗಳು-ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ, ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಮನೋಭಾವನೆ ಬೆಳೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ೨೦೦೬ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿ.ಎಮ್.ಸಿ.ಎ. ವರ್ಗಗಳು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಬೆಳೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿವೆ. ೨೦೧೫ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಿ.ಎಮ್.ಸಿ.ಎ. ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ದೊರೆತಿದೆ. ಸಿ.ಎಮ್.ಸಿ.ಎ. ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಕು|| ರಜಿಯಾ ಬೇಗಂ ಶೇಖ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹ ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವ ಒಂದು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಕೆಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ.ಓಂಕಾರ ಗುರುಗಳು, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ.ಜೋಷಿ, ಶ್ರೀ.ಸಿ.ಎ.ಹಿರೇಮಠ, ಶ್ರೀ.ಎಮ್.ಬಿ.ಇದ್ದಲಗಿ, ಶ್ರೀ.ಪಿ.ಡಿ.ತ್ಯಾಮನವರ ಗುರುಗಳು ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಗುರುಗಳಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
